When a line ends or intersects with another a shape is formed. Both shape and form define objects in space. Shapes have two-dimensions (height and width) and are usually defined by lines. Forms exist in three dimensions (height, width and depth). Forms take up space in either a real or implied way. In painting form is implies as it creates the illusion of 3 dimensions. In sculpture form is real as it takes of real 3 dimensional space.
